Sunset At The BeachSunset at the Beach   
Two figures hand in hand,  leaving damp footsteps across carpet of gold  blue velvet waves shimmering in the distance  twilight stroll arm in arm  ending in a silent embrace.   
Heads thrown back,  laughing,  indulging in the joy of late summer sunsets  fantasies blending into facts  as palms rest on chest  small face tucks into crook of shoulder  strong arms across smooth back.   
Salty-scented warmth invading nostrils  silence broken by heated breath  lingering,  clinging,  beauty in a single moment  broken by the Sunset At The Beach

He said he loved me  as he moved about the place  laughing,  always just out of reach  frivolous and fun-loving by nature  his singsong voice echoing on the rooftop  and he claimed he was just playing.   
He said he loved me  as we danced in our formal wear  school aged band playing bad covers on the stage  and sipping spiked punch from paper cups  I told him he shouldn't have done that,  but he just laughed it off  saying I needed to loosen up a little  enjoy life like he did.

One Moment of ClarityOne Moment of Clarity in a Busy Day   
It sat discarded  frayed,  well-worn,  obviously well-loved once  but set aside today  wrapped around the rungs of an uncomfortable chair  as uncaring faces moved past  focused on the tangy scent of their black liquid obsession  the caffeinated fuel that made their endlessly repetitive lives  bearable  failing to notice the knobbly ended atrocity  that was a faded,  multi-coloured scarf  abandoned at the corner table  where no one ever sat.   
She was worn around the edges,  her ponytail pulled tight enough &nb One Moment of Clarity

Old Tables and Broken HeartsOld Tables and Broken Hearts   
The Formica was cracked,  memories of years gone by,  she traced it with her finger,  smiled.   
The old table was much like herself  worn with age  touched by time,  hardship,  too many careless fingers.   
She used to take pride in her kitchen,  the bustling heart of her family,  but they were gone,  long gone,  drifted away through interminable progress  only she remained,  and his letters.   
"Dearest Milly," they always started,  even now the words warmed her heart,  "Dearest Milly I miss you" Old Tables and Broken Hearts
